A Non-governmental organization (NG0) that comprises of youths, Tortuga Frigate in a bid to give back to the society has donated some environmental tools that include Brooms, Parkers, waste bin, rakes, to mention a few to Sabo Market in Ikorodu area of Lagos.
The presentation which is to commemorate Tortuga Frigate CSR 2020 was done yesterday Saturday, 2nd of October 2020 in the Iyaloja office, and had members of Tortuga Frigate, top executives of the market in attendance.
According to the chairman of Tortuga Frigate in Ikorodu, Comrade Pelumi Olalekan Rado, He made it known that donation of environmental tools to Sabo market is part of the Tortuga Frigate Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR) 2020 programme.
He explained that the programme was supposed to take place in June and they were supposed to make donations to five markets but due to the pandemic and lockdown, nothing could be done until the lockdown was eased, which was why the organization decided to visit Sabo Market with the gifts.
‘This is Tortuga Frigate CSR 2020, our yearly program was slated for June 5, we wanted to go to five markets but due to the pandemic, we couldn’t do anything but after the lockdown ease, we decided to do something in Sabo Market because we have a shop here where we generate revenue.
Before NECO WAEC, we wanted to present forms to seven students whose parents can’t afford to obtain form , we already obtained the form but due to the pandemic, we shifted it to next year.
Moving forward, By November 1, we will be going to the orphanage for our annual prayer and thanksgiving programme’’
Also, in an interview with an Ex-chairman of Tortuga Frigate, Akinyemi Gold Larry, He explained that Tortuga Frigate is an NGO that mainly impact the society at large.
