UNILAG Suffer Another Death-Blow As Prof. Ajeyalemi Bows To Covid-19

The Ivory Citadel Of Learning, UNILAG, has been thrown into mourning as Prof. Duro Ajeyalemi, a former Dean of the UNILAG Faculty of Education bows to Covid-19 related illness.

The late Ajeyalemi was the pioneer registrar of the Joint Universities Preliminary Examination Board (JUPEB).

Prof. Ajeyalemi reportedly died due to COVID-19 at the isolation centre at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Idi-Araba, on Wednesday morning in Lagos.

He retired from UNILAG in 2020 at the age of 70.

UNILAG’s Deputy Vice-chancellor in charge of development services, Professor Folasade Ogunsola, confirmed Ajeyalemi’s death to newsmen.

Ajeyalemi’s death is coming barely three days after a former VC of the university, Prof. Oyewusi Ibidapo-Obe, also died from same Covid-19 related illness.
